Aloo Chole Recipe
Potatoes and Chana are my favorite one. So think about this dish, it is my absolute favorite one. This has some unusual flavours going through it. I think its from the amchoor and kasuri methi leaves. This has an absolute north indian flavour to it. And BTW I love North indian foods. You can see a whole lot of recipes recipes right here.
About Aloo Chole Recipe
An Indian term known as sabzi, or subji, simply means vegetable dish. Similar to the English word greens, sabzi is derived from the Persian word sabz, which means green. But any vegetable can be used to make a sabzi, and there are many ways to prepare it, like serving it with or without liquid. This can be served with plain white rice, roti or puri. My favorite is with rice. And in the picture, if you are wondering, what is the green dish in the side. It is spinach masiyal.. I have posted the recipe of it in my other blog. Please check it here. Ingredients for Aloo Chana Sabzi Recipe (Aloo Chole)
Potatoes :
It was introduced to India by Portuguese sailors in the early 17th century, and British colonists spread its cultivation to North India. The potato is one of the most important commercial crops grown in the country.
Channa / Kabuli Channa / Chickpeas :
Given that chickpeas are legumes, they taste a lot like beans. Because they are starchy, most people compare their flavour to cannellini and pinto beans. They also have an earthy flavour with nutty undertones.
Amchoor Powder / Dry Mango Powder :
Amchur powder is typically used to flavour foods and beverages and to impart the health benefits of mangoes when mangoes are not in season. It tastes sweet but sour. It can be used in place of lemon and has a tart, pale beige to brownish colour. Adds tanginess to food.

Is Indian sabzi healthy?
Beans and sprouts are excellent sources of protein, dietary fibre, and vitamin C. Your calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus intakes can be increased by eating more mixed sprouts and palak subzi, all of which are beneficial for maintaining bone health.
