I have a friend who is a iyengar. She used to bring this curry with a lovely potato roast and do I need to give any explanations for this combo. It tasted awesome. I think everyone is aware of iyengar recipes. They make each of their foods different from us.It always taste unique. I definitely want to post this recipe in my blog. Her mom was so kind enough to give me her recipe. As soon as I got the recipe in hand I made it. AActually I made a huge batch which was enough for my perimma’s family as well as ours. We also gave some to my neighbours house. I want you all to give this a try. I want give a tiny tip which she gave me. This mor kulambu taste way better the next day. So hope you will try this and tell me how it came.
Ingredients for Vendakkai Mor kuzhambu
Vendakkai / Ladysfinger / Okra-15 cut into pieces Turmeric powder / Mangal podi-1 tsp Coconut oil-2 tblspn Thayir / Thick Unsour Curd / Yogurt -1 cup Salt to taste
For Grinding:
Toor Dal / Tuvaram paruppu-2 tsp Urad Dal / Ulundam Paruppu-1 tsp Channa Dal / Kadala Paruppu-1 tsp Coconut-1 cup Green chillies-3
For Seasoning:
Coconut oil-1 tblspn Mustard seeds / Kaduku-1 tsp Cumin seeds / Jeerakam-1 tsp Curry leaves -1 spring
